On April 22, 2026, from 13:00 to 15:00, a meeting of the permanent scientific seminar of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Comparative Educational Policy "Modern trends in HigherEducation: comparative analysis and an inclusive approach" will be held.
Keynote speaker
The supervisors of the seminar
  • Prof. V.M. Filippov
Doctor of Science (Mathematics and Physics), Head of the UNESCO Chair in Policies of Higher Education of the RUDN University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, Professor
  • Prof. M.A. Simonova
Doctor of Science (History), Director of Educational Scientific Institute of Comparative Educational Policy of the RUDN University
The scientific seminar is dedicated to the establishment of a national scientific school of early care for children with normal and impaired development and their families. The complex process of establishing an early comprehensive care system has a long history of development and is constantly changing from a cultural and historical perspective.
The seminar will present a retrospective analysis of scientific interdisciplinary views on the neuropsychiatric development of children in the early years of life, based on the research of physiologist V.M. Bekhterev and his collaborators and followers (doctors, teachers and psychologists) N.M. Shchelovanov, N.I. Kasatkin, N.M. Aksarina and others.
The Russian scientific school of early aid to children with developmental disabilities is based on the cultural and historical theory of L.S. Vygotsky, which found its scientific and practical development in the systematic research of representatives of his scientific school (L.I. Bozhovich, A.V. Zaporozhets, A.N. Leontiev, M.I. Lisina, S.L. Rubinstein, D.B. Elkonin). These scientists are followers of L.S. Vygotsky — substantiated various conceptual provisions on the unity and complex dynamic interaction of biological and social factors in child development, on the leading role of the social environment as a source of development of the child’s psyche in ontogenesis and dysontogenesis, on the general patterns and specific features of normal and abnormal development, on the genesis of communication as a communicative activity in infancy and early age.
The seminar will consider the key classical theoretical and methodological approaches to early comprehensive care for a child with developmental disabilities: systemic, integrated (interdisciplinary), family-centered, differentiated approaches.
During the scientific seminar, participants will be presented with scientific and practical experimental research by modern scientists. Special attention will be paid to scientific approaches to psychological and pedagogical support not only for children of the first years of life with various developmental disorders, but also for their families.
